Iterating on a Southern African design passed down through the generations, we have optimised for comfort, durability and aesthetic. Made in our workshop in Cape Town.

Solid kiaat or beech wood, a cotton canvas padded seat and backrest, and a frame that folds flat. Made for camping, your stoep or the beach.

Materials & Build

Frame: Solid hardwood — kiaat (Pterocarpus angolensis) or European beech (Fagus sylvatica)
Seat & back: Hard-wearing cotton canvas, in olive, navy or khaki (with more colours coming soon), and a foam padded seat
Joinery: Hand-cut traditional joints, pinned with hardwood dowels
Folding: Flat, in one movement — easy to carry and store

Series One

A Numbered First Run

Each chair is made by hand, so we are building in small batches. Series One is a limited run, allocated in the order that people join the list — which is how we know how much timber and canvas to order.

When we are ready to start manufacturing, we'll email you with the price, and your place will be confirmed when you pay. No payment until then.
